Circular letter of pesantren assistance recipients, Ministry of Religious Affairs: hoax

There was a circular letter from the Director of Diniyah Education and Islamic Boarding "Pesantren" Schools (PD Pontren) No. B-2563/DJ.I/Dt.IV/HM.13/09/2021 dated September 13, 2021 regarding the Circular Letter of Pesantren Assistance Recipients and Religious Education for Fiscal Year 2021 Period II.

The letter was addressed to the leaders of organizations/associations of pesantren and religious education, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Cq the Head of PD Pontren/PAKIS/PENDIS/TOS, the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Cq the Head of PD Pontren/PAKIS/PENDIS/TOS Section, and the leaders of pesantren and religious education.

One of the points in the body of the letter states that the application for assistance recipients could be submitted in printed form (hard copy) and/or digital files (soft copy) through: a. Helper; b. Forwarded to the assistance provider Rp. 30,000,000, - for 2 institutions; c. Attending the Allowance Assistance Program event at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Director of PD Pontren Waryono confirmed that the letter was not true or hoax. "That is a fake letter. The information is untrue and misleading, aka hoax," Waryono said in Jakarta, Friday (17/9/2021).

Apart from substantively the information in the letter was incorrect, Waryono continued, technically administratively, the writing of the letter was also not up to standard. The language used is confusing and the format is also not as it should be.

"If there are parties who receive the letter, just ignore it. Or, please confirm with the nearest Regency/City Ministry of Religious Affairs," he said.

Waryono added that he was currently rolling out a program of assistance for pesantren and religious education. However, the submission of the assistance proposal was closed on September 10, 2021.
